Our 2016 Travel Wish List

We both enjoy planning trips.  Together we went on 28 trips in 2015, but we mostly went to places we had already been before.  We are always reading about different destinations and thinking about where we should go next……So for our last post of 2015, we thought we would share our wish lists for travel in 2016.  We may not be able to go on these trips in 2016, they may roll forward to a future year, but these are definitely on our wish lists.

Katherine’s 2016 List:

Island Hopping in the Caribbean: I love the beach and some of the most gorgeous beaches I have visited have been in the Caribbean.  I really would like to go on a trip where I can see a few islands on the same trip.  I have been doing my research and an Island Windjammers cruise seems like it would be a great fit for me!

Hungary: I love entertaining and my china pattern is Herend Chinese Bouquet in green.  I would love to tour the Herend factory.  Of course, there is so much more to do in Hungary: from the Budapest spas to Aggtelek (the largest cave system in central Europe)  to the many amazing buildings in Budapest, I would need to do plenty of research before my trip to ensure I get to see the highlights!  Anisa has also raved about the Goulash!

Mackinac Island: I was watching the travel channel a few years back and the show was featuring Mackinac Island.  I would love to be able to escape the Houston heat and have a long weekend there.  I’m sure after checking out these pictures from our friend Nicki at Eat Live Travel Drink, you will be adding it to your list as well.

Anisa’s 2016 List

Iceland: I have been seeing and hearing lots about Iceland for years, but I am hoping to finally make it happen in 2016.  I would love to see the glaciers, geysers, and lagoons.  I have also heard good things about the nightlife in Reykjavik and it’s only a 4 hour flight from New York City.

Nashville: Country music is my favorite, so I know it may be hard to believe that I have not ever been to Nashville.  In 2015, I reconnected with one of my best friends from college, Julie.  We have been reminiscing about all our nights at country bars while we were in college.  This reminded me, I really want to go to Nashville!  Hopefully, we can figure out a weekend and dust off our hot pink boots.

Belize: I love beaches, warm weather, and being in the water, so my list would not be complete without a tropical destination. Katherine has told me great things about Belize – the water is so clear and she said she had a very relaxing vacation.   I know they have great snorkeling/diving in Belize, so I would definitely like to do that.

2016 St. Martin Trip

And of course, we are working on another trip to St. Martin, where we dreamed up the idea for our blog, for some more fun in the sun!  We have already done day trips to Anguilla and St. Barts, but we still need to visit Pinel Island and also Saba.  Plus, we are still working on visiting the rest of St. Martin’s 35 beaches.  Oh, and we have got some recommendations for even more great restaurants in response to the list of our favorite St. Martin restaurants that we will have to try.   Lastly, we will have to take some walks along Orient Beach and may even do our hike again.

There are so many exciting options.  What is on your travel wish list for 2016?
